Rob Dibble says that during Bonds’ playing days in Pittsburgh (1986-92), Barry Bonds’ own teammates would ask opposing pitchers to hit Bonds. Dibble pitched for the Reds 1988-93.
“When he was with the Pirates, his teammates would come to Norm Charlton and I and say, ‘We’ll give you a steak dinner if you hit him.’ ” Dibble says he never hit Bonds.
